2 Glenview Elementary Teams Go To State “Odyssey of the Mind”
Tournament
Glenview Elementary's two teams did very well at the CA State Odyssey of the Mind
Tournament held in Brentwood Saturday, April 5th, reflecting the hard work of both students
and coaches.
The Eccentrics team, which creatively saved the biosphere from an evil, mad scientist, placed
third in their age division, and went home with medals and a trophy.
The Road Rally team, composed of 6 mice taunting the mobile Blinky the cat while she
completed four sporting events, placed first in their age division, and will be advancing to the
World Odyssey tournament, to be held in College Park, Maryland, May 31st-June 3rd. The
team will be conducting fundraising events in the next month to raise about $12,000, to send
their vehicle and props, seven students and two coaches to the tournament.

Glenview’s Leafcutter Ants Go Marching On…to the World Finals!
WORLD FINALS: Glenview’s Leafcutter Ants put in hundreds of hours brainstorming ideas,
building vehicles and all sorts of other props, practicing their performance, and working on
spontaneous problems. We had 7 kids, 2 coaches, and lots of equipment to transport and
house for almost a week in East Lansing, Michigan. Thanks to all the families and people who
helped in our fundraising efforts to attend the World Finals, where we placed 5th!
