A Brief Interlude of Thanks
The Glenview PTA could not have done all this without everyone’s support and
contributions. We also want to acknowledge the many additional equally worthy
contributions made this year by many individuals at Glenview, including our Principal,
teachers, staff, students and family members, and all their efforts to provide the best
possible school experience are most appreciated.

The Glenview PTA looks forward to working together with all of you this upcoming year!
How to Get Involved
Glenview PTA
Join the Yahoo Group

The Glenview PTA is looking to improve upon what we’ve done this past year, and
would like all of you to be a part of the action this year. If you’re not already a member of
our Yahoo! Group, you can join by clicking the button above. When you join, you can
view messages from the Glenview PTA, as well as calendar reminders of upcoming
events. This is a great way to get timely information about what is happening at school.
You can also use the group to post messages or questions. The message board is a
great way to communicate if you are interested in volunteering for a PTA event. Many
event coordinators use the message board to post requests for volunteers. To preview
the Glenview PTA Yahoo! Group without joining, go to

com/group/GlenviewPTA/.
Become a PTA member
You can join the PTA at any time during the school year. You can become a member or
an enrollee. To become a member, all you need to do is fill out a simple form and pay a
$5 for yearly membership dues. As a member, you have voting privileges at PTA
meetings. You can also become an enrollee. There is no charge for being an enrollee,
and you have access to the same meetings and information. However, as an enrollee,
you would not be able to vote at PTA meeting.

When you decide to join the PTA (either as a member or enrollee), you can be involved
in so many different ways. We know that parents are busy people! Whether it's
attending a meeting, serving salad at the spaghetti dinner, or joining a PTA committee,
your time and effort is highly valued. Whatever your level of involvement, your PTA
involvement helps to make Glenview a better school.

enrollee, contact

Join a PTA committee
Please consider yourself a valued volunteer if any of these themes strike your interest:

Disaster Preparedness Committee: This committee makes sure that students are
safe in case of an emergency or disaster.

Fundraising Committee: The fundraising committee raises money through outreach
events, campaigns and grants from school, neighborhood, state, federal, and
business communities and entities in a manner consistent with the PTA’s Mission
Statement.

Health and Wellness Committee: This committee aims to enhance the health and
well-being of students at Glenview. Click the link for more information.

iMac Program Committee: The iMac program receives donated Apple iMac
computers, fixes them up, and then installs them in classrooms at Glenview
Elementary. We offer volunteer pick up of donated computers from the greater San
Francisco Bay Area. In return we provide a tax-deductible receipt for the donation, and
the knowledge that you are contributing a resource of great value to a community that
needs it.

teachers and students.

Library Committee: The library committee helps to ensure that the library runs
smoothly by cataloging books and materials and other duties.

Playground/ Garden Committee: Interested in yard and garden design? Have
landscaping skills? Able to donate time and labor? Glenview Elementary is planning
to redesign the lower yard. We will be asking OUSD and the greater Glenview
community for assistance in funding and implementing the plan. Please give us any
input, ideas, or your contact info. It is a large undertaking, but together we can do it!

Social Climate Committee: Help to foster mutual respect and cooperation to ensure
that all students feel safe and welcome at Glenview Elementary school.

Website Committee: Help make Glenview PTA’s website shine! If you are interested
in website design, writing content, creating graphics, or just have some great ideas for
the site, we would love to talk to you.

To join a committee, just attend the next PTA meeting and let us know you are
interested, or contact
glenviewpta@yahoo.com.
Whether you are considering joining the PTA, becoming a board member, or just
volunteering at the PTA events, here is how to do it.
