Our Mission
The mission of the Glenview PTA is to support students and teachers through the
enrichment of academics; promote a safe and clean learning environment; and welcome,
respect, and engage all families in the school community.
What does the Glenview PTA do?
Some of you may be wondering: "What is the PTA, and why should I become a member?"
The PTA raises funds in order to provide valuable services to Glenview's students, parents,
and teachers. We hope this website answers some questions for you, and that each of you
continues to be involved in our school community and PTA.
How can I get involved?
Strong parental involvement is one of the things that make Glenview Elementary such a
special place. As a member of the PTA, you can have a positive impact on your child's
education. There are so many ways to become involved that even the busiest of parents can
participate. Click the Get Involved link to find out how.
Here are some examples of what Glenview PTA funds have supported:
 | | Staff, materials, and cataloging for the school library.
|
 | | Annual Science Fairs, Spelling Bees, and Read-a-Thons.

Help the Road Rally team go to the World Tournament!
Our goal is to send our Road Rally vehicle and props, seven team members and two
coaches to the Odyssey of the Mind 2008 World Finals in College Park, Maryland. Costs per
person for flight, lodging and meals will be $1178. We also need $600 for the team to ship
our equipment to the event. The team will be writing grants, requesting personal donations,
conducting car washes and food sales in the next six weeks to raise $12,000. Tax-
deductible checks can be made out to Glenview PTA, and earmarked for Odyssey of the
Mind Road Rally. Thanks for your support!
Glenview Green Team Events
You may have noticed the three new recycling/composting stations located in the cafeteria
and upper and lower front yards. Thanks to the Green Team, kids are learning to recycle
while saving the school money. Click here to read an article from the Montclarion about
Glenview's new student recycling program. Glenview's Green Team's Goals are:
- to establish a school-wide, eco-friendly recycling and composting program
- to raise awareness and educate about reducing waste and increasing re-usable
resources
- reevaluation of Glenview's current garbage needs and implementation of
composting services to save Glenview elementary thousands of dollars annually.
